Case study
Pirxey: from a test sprint to an external design team

The context
The context
Pirxey is an AI-native software house from Gdańsk, with 130+ engineers, 100+ delivered projects and clients across the US and Europe. Its brand draws on Stanisław Lem’s stories of Pilot Pirx and on NASA design from the 1970s.
When we started working together in February 2026, the brand had plenty of character but no system behind it. The guidelines had been applied so literally that form drowned out the message: caps lock and heavy frames everywhere, halftone, a different style in every LinkedIn post, and no design tokens.

What we did
What we did
01
Audit and a four-day sprint
We reviewed the Figma files, the website and 33 slides from two decks. Within four days we delivered a new set of slide types, three LinkedIn post formats and the first version of a token-based design system.
02
Design system
Colours, type, spacing and brand marks set up as Figma variables, first for slides and then for the web across four breakpoints. Designers, marketing and developers all work from the same values.
03
Presentations
A master library of 58 layouts in light and dark versions, rebuilt in PowerPoint and Google Slides. On top of that, All Hands decks and project slides that PMs fill in on their own.
04
Website and landing pages
Homepage, case studies, service pages, mega menu, contact page and a reusable events module, plus landing pages about AI and webinars. Pirxey’s AI agents code the site from our components, and we check every build against the design system.
05
Marketing and internal comms
Graphics for events and business trips to the US, LinkedIn campaigns, case study animations, edited video testimonials, illustrations and the visual identity for two company offsites, from key visual to stickers.

The outcome
The outcome
A week after the sprint review, the test became an ongoing collaboration. Since then we have been Pirxey’s external design team, working on everything from sales decks to the website and company events. The retro space-age character is still there, but it now has a volume control: turned up on the website and down in sales materials, so the content reads first. Even the AI agents that code Pirxey’s website now work from the same tokens as its designers.
