Strategic workshops Information architecture UX mockups Usability testing UI design Logo and visual identity
LcL Institut für Sprachen und Kommunikation is a Viennese language school that came to us at the very beginning of its journey - with no logo, no website, a general vision and a need for strategic support. For about six months we defined the project's assumptions together: persona, information architecture, user flows.
We conducted usability tests on mock-ups, and then designed the interface of the site supporting an extensive range of language courses - group, individual, in-person and online. We also authored the logo and corporate identity system that LcL continues to use today.
LcL Institut für Sprachen und Kommunikation is a Vienna-based language school offering courses in German, English, Spanish and other languages. The founders approached us in 2022, at the very beginning of branding - with no logo, no website, and a need for strategic support.
The first step was a strategy workshop. Together, we defined user personae, mapped the platform's functionalities and determined how to present an extensive catalog of courses - group, individual, specialized, workshops and language camps.
The complexity of the offering was a major challenge. We developed information architecture and user flows, which we tested on low-level mockups. Early usability testing allowed us to verify assumptions before moving to the visual layer.
We based the target interface on a clear layout with a clear hierarchy of information and a proprietary line-art illustration system. The logo is based on an LcL anagram arranged in a dialogue balloon with an open book element - a combination of communication and learning in one mark.
The project took about six months. We provided complete project documentation, and LcL implemented it in-house. The school is still using the results of our work today.
